Predators down host Avs
Nashville improved to 29-18-4 on the road Monday with a 4-1 victory at Colorado. After a scoreless first period, Nick Bonino opened the scoring for the Predators in the second with his 13th goal of the season. It was assisted by Calle Jarnkrok. Viktor Arvidsson made it 2-0 6:35 into the second off an assist from Filip Forsberg. Following the lone Avalanche goal, Roman Josi made it 3-1 with 2:02 left in the second on assists from Austin Watson and Bonino. Ryan Ellis added an insurance goal in the third period off assists by Jarnkrok and Mattias Ekholm. Pekka Rinne made 35 saves on 36 shots to pick up the win.
Golden Knights doubled up by Wild
Las Vegas dropped a 4-2 decision at home Monday against Minnesota to fall to 29-18-4 on the season. The Golden Knights led 1-0 through one period off a power play goal by Alex Tuch assisted by Jonathan Marchessault and Colin Miller. The Wild scored the next two goals in the second period, but Las Vegas tied it up with 8:24 left in the period on a goal courtesy of Max Pacioretty. Paul Stastny and Miller each had an assist. Minnesota proceeded to score twice in the final 14:29 to put it away. Marc-Andre Fleury surrendered three goals on 21 shots in the losing effort.
NHL Betting Trends
Nashville
The Predators are 4-0 in their last four Wednesday games. Nashville is 5-13 in its last 18 road games.
Las Vegas
The Golden Knights are 9-3 in their last 12 games overall. Las Vegas is 51-22 in its last 73 home games.
Prediction:
Nashville has had plenty of struggles on the road, but perhaps the win Monday will help it turn a corner. Rinne should be back in net here with a day off between games and he will be backed by an offense that has clicked some lately with Arvidsson being a red-hot goal scorer. I’m going to take a shot on the Predators against a Golden Knights squad that is more vulnerable on their home ice than last season.
