Kulikov ruled out for Jets
Jets defenseman Dmitry Kulikov has not played for the last two months as he has been out with a back injury. While he is still listed as out indefinitely, a return could be nearing as an official announcement was released that he would be out for Game 6. Even if he is healthy enough to return to the ice, a spot on the active roster isn’t guaranteed due to the emergence of fellow defenseman Ben Chiarot in the postseason. Kulikov recorded three goals and eight assists in 62 regular season games.
Connor scores first two goals of playoffs
After a scoreless first period, Winnipeg exploded in the second period of Game 5 to grab a 4-2 advantage. Left winger Kyle Connor played a major role as his first goal of the playoffs gave the Jets a 2-1 lead, while less than five minutes later he scored again to make it 4-1. He added an assist in the third period to cap his big night. Connor had a solid regular season with 31 goals and 26 assists in 76 games. He now has two goals and four assists in 10 playoff contests.
NHL Betting Trends
Nashville
The under is 11-1-1 in the last 13 Predators games after allowing five or more goals in the previous game. The over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.
Winnipeg
The under is 6-1 in the last seven Jets home games. Winnipeg is 5-1 in its last six games when its opponent allowed five or more goals in its previous game.
Prediction:
I’ve thought all along this series was probably destined for seven games due to how evenly matches these two teams are. I’m not backing down from that now. Nashville is good enough to win against anyone on the road and it is good at making correct adjustments after a poor game. Trust in the Predators to get it done in this spot.
