Thursday NHL Opening Odds
(The Spread) – There are a total of six games on the schedule in the NHL on Thursday night. Continue reading for opening lines and totals on all the NHL games for February 3, 2011.
One of the better matchups on the docket for Thursday is a 7:00PM EST clash between the Nashville Predators (27-17-7) and the Philadelphia Flyers (33-13-5), both of which got off to a rough start Tuesday in their first games back from the All-Star break. Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Flyers -190 favorites, while the over-under is set at 5.5.
The Flyers began their second half in rough fashion as they were shut down 4-0 at Tampa Bay, while the Predators were defeated at home by Calgary via a 3-2 overtime final. It was the third consecutive loss for Nashville. Philadelphia is 16-7-2 at home this season and the Predators come in at 16-13-1 on the road.
Mike Richards leads the Flyers with 17 goals and 30 assists, while goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is 21-7-3 with a 2.49 goals-against average. Shea Weber leads Nashville offensively with nine goals and 22 assists. Goalie Pekka Rinne is 17-13-5 with a 2.10 GAA.
According to the latest trends, Nashville is 18-27-6 on over-unders this season and Philadelphia is 23-28-0 on over-unders.
Elsewhere on the schedule, the Dallas Stars (30-16-5) travels to play the Boston Bruins (29-15-7). Boston is a -145 favorite and the over-under is 5.5. Minnesota (26-19-5) is at Colorado (25-19-6) for a 9:00PM EST start. The Avalanche are a -145 favorite and the over-under is 5.5.
