Tuesday NHL Betting Free Pick
(The Spread) – Two teams looking to secure playoff berths will square off tonight when the Canadiens host the Blackhawks at 7:30PM ET.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Blackhawks –114 money line favorites over the Habs, who are +105 on the ML. The over/under for tonight’s game is currently set at 5.5 goals.
The Hawks come into Tuesday night’s contest with a 42-28-3-5 record overall and a 19-12-3-5 mark on the road. According to latest NHL trends, the under is 42-36 in all Chicago games this season but the over is 20-19 when the Hawks play on the road.
The Habs head into tonight with a 42-30-4-3 record overall and a 23-11-3-3 mark inside the Bell Centre. The under is 44-26 in all Montreal games this season but ironically, the under is 18-15 when they play at home.
NHL Free Pick: This is the first meeting between these two clubs this season but the home team is 6-0 in the last six games between the Hawks and the Habs. Montreal is on the playoff bubble after it was shutout three times in a row at the end of March. But since then, the Habs have won two of their last three games and beat New Jersey on the road last Saturday. Mathieu Darche has three goals in his last three games and seems to be heating up at the right time. On the flop side, Patrick Sharp is dealing with a knee injury for Chicago, which is obviously a plus for Montral backers. The Hawks are just 2-5 in their last seven games against the Habs and 0-4 in their last four trips to Montreal. Take the Habs, who offer a nice value at home at +105.
