Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Canucks –185 on the money line over the visiting Predators, who are +170 on the ML. The over/under for tonight’s game (which starts at 9:00PM ET) is currently sitting at 5 goals.
The Predators took care of the Ducks in six games in the first round. They won in Anaheim as a +118 money line underdog in Game 1, beat the Ducks 4-3 at home in Game 3 as a –142 favorite, and won Games 5 (+130) and Games 6 (-141).
Nashville will take on a Vancouver team that was pushed to the brink by the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks. The Canucks took a 3-0 series lead before plowing it and allowing the Hawks to tie things up at 3-all. But Vancouver took care of business in overtime in Game 7, finishing off Chicago, 2-1.
NHL Playoff Free Pick: Now might be the time to take advantage of a tired Vancouver team that was pushed to the brink by Chicago. According to latest NHL trends, the Predators are 4-1 in their last five games versus the Northwest and 13-5 in their last 18 games overall. They’re also 27-11 in their last Thursday night games, while the Canucks are just 1-4 in their last five conference semifinals games. The Canucks might just be happy to have gotten out of the first round and the Predators can steal one on the road.
THURSDAY NHL FREE PICK: NASHVILLE PREDATORS +170
