Wednesday NHL Free Pick
(The Spread) – If the Sharks are hoping to increase their 2-0 series advantage against the Red Wings, they’ll have to figure out a way to win in Detroit.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Red Wings –150 on the money line against the visiting Sharks, who are +138 on the ML. The over/under total for this game is currently 5.5 goals.
The Sharks have taken a two-game advantage in this series thanks in large part to their defense and goaltender Antti Niemi, who has saved 57 out of the 59 goals he’s faced in the last two games. Offensively for San Jose, Niclas Wallin and Ian White each came away with a goal apiece in a 2-1 Game 2 victory.
For the Red Wings, they’ve been out-shot in each of the first two games in this series. The Sharks got off 46 shots in Game 1 of the series, compared to just 25 for the Wings. Quite frankly, it’s rather surprising that Detroit only lost 2-1 in each of the first two games, although the Wings are still down 2-0 in the series so what’s the difference?
NHL Playoff Free Pick: Regular readers (regular readers – ha! What regular readers?) know I look for value above all else and when I look at the three games on the broad tonight in the NHL, the Sharks scream value. If they ever get their power play unit up to speed then Detroit could be in real trouble, despite the fact that the Sharks now have to win on the road in order to increase their series lead. According to latest NHL trends, the Sharks are 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams, while the Wings are just 1-6 in their last seven conference semifinals games. Take the Sharks and the +138 you’re getting on the money line.
