Sean Couturier is still being evaluated, according to coach Alain Vigneault. Vigneault wasn’t able to provide an update on Couturier’s status as a result, but the team hopes to know more later today or tomorrow. It’s unclear at this time what his availability is for Game 6 against the New York Islanders on Thursday night. He left Tuesday’s contest after he attempted to hit Mathew Barzal, but the play resulted in what appeared to be a knee-on-knee collision.
New York Islanders
Mathew Barzal is “trending in the right direction,” according to coach Barry Trotz. The Islanders expect to have an answer tomorrow on Barzal’s availability for Game 6 on Thursday night against Philadelphia. He was struck in the face by a high-stick on Tuesday and was unable to finish the game. Trotz added that his level of concern for Barzal was “moderate” with regard to Thursday’s game.
Flyers vs. Islanders NHL Predictions
Despite eventually falling in overtime, the Islanders were still able to claw back into Game 5 after trailing 3-1 with under five minutes remaining in regulation. Carter Hart was able to keep the Flyers in the game long enough for Scott Laughton to get the winner for Philly but I don’t see them walking the tight rope two games in a row and walking away with another victory. Hart may play well again tonight but the Flyers don’t have enough offensive firepower if they fall behind. I like the value here with the Islanders on the money line and I envision them advancing tonight.
