(The Spread) – The Chicago Blackhawks staved off elimination against the Vancouver Canucks in Game 4. Can they do it again in Game 5?
After dropping the first three games of the best-of-seven series and entering Game 4 as a home underdog, Chicago did not wilt and rather stood tall with a decisive 7-2 victory to send the series back to Vancouver Thursday night at 10:05PM EST. Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Canucks -200 favorites and the Blackhawks are +180 underdogs. The over-under is listed at 5.5.
A goal by Brian Campbell in the second period served as the eventual game-winner in Game 4, while Patrick Sharp was instrumental in helping to turn it into a blowout as he had two late goals for Chicago to give him three total for the series. Corey Crawford stopped 21 of the 23 shots sent his way.
According to latest NHL trends, Chicago is 15-13-0 straight up against Vancouver over the last three seasons. Fifteen of the last 25 games in this series have gone over the total during the last three seasons.
Beginning the night of NHL action is Game 4 between the Boston Bruins and the host Montreal Canadiens at 7:05PM EST. The Canadiens hold a 2-1 advantage in the series, but the Bruins won Game 3 to pull closer. Boston is a -115 favorite with an over-under of 5.
The last game on the schedule is at 10:35PM EST when the Los Angeles Kings entertain the San Jose Sharks in Game 4. The Sharks went ahead 2-1 in the series Tuesday when they overcame a four-goal deficit to defeat the Kings 6-5 in overtime. San Jose is a -125 favorite and the over-under is 5.
