Wednesday NHL Opening Odds
(The Spread) – One team will look to stave off elimination on Wednesday night in the NHL, while two others hope to avoid going down 3-0 in their respective series.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Boston Bruins –139 money line favorites over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers, who have opened as +128 money line underdogs. This will be Game 3 of the series, which will begin at 7:00PM ET.
With a loss tonight, the Flyers will fall into a 3-0 deficit. They lost to Boston 7-3 in Game 1 and then fell again 3-2 in overtime in Game 2. In that game, Bruins’ goaltender Tim Thomas improved to 6-3 in the postseason while saving 52 of the 54 shots he faced.
According to current NHL public betting information, 56% of the betting public favors the Flyers tonight, even though the Bruins have command of the series. Of course, this is only based on 300-plus wagers, so make sure you click on the link above for the most current betting information.
Another team that’s hoping to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole is the Detroit Red Wings, who will host the San Jose Sharks at 8:00PM ET. Despite being down 2-0 in the series, the Wings are –163 money line favorites over the Sharks, who are +150. The over/under total for this game opened at 5.5 goals.
According to latest NHL trends, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Detroit, while the Sharks are 5-0 in their last five games against he Red Wings. That said, San Jose is 8-20-1 in their last 29 trips to Detroit.
As of this writing, oddsmakers have not released the opening odds for Game 4 between the Capitals and Lightning. Tampa Bay has a commanding lead in the series after winning 4-3 on Tuesday night. Game time is set for 7:00PM ET tonight.
