Stars vs. Blues Pick

Do the Dallas Stars have the blueprint to earn an upset win tonight at 8PM ET when they play the host St. Louis Blues?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Blues are listed as a -155 favorite on the moneyline. The Stars are a +135 underdog and the over-under is set at 5.5 goals.

Dallas comes in with a 16-11-0-1 overall record and 6-8-0-1 on the road after a 5-2 home loss to the Predators on Tuesday. St. Louis is 18-8-2-0 and 9-5-0-0 at home following a 4-3 victory Tuesday at the Canadiens. The Blues won the first meeting at home on Oct. 7 by a count of 4-2. St. Louis is 4-1 in five meetings since the start of last season, winning the last four. The over is 4-1.

The Stars were paced by Jamie Oleksiak with a goal and an assist in the loss to Nashville. Stephen Johns recorded the other goal. Jamie Benn added an assist. Kari Lehtonen allowed two goals on 17 shots in net, while Ben Bishop gave up three goals on 15 shots. Dallas trailed 5-0 through two periods before scoring twice in the third.

Brayden Schenn notched a hat trick for St. Louis in the win at Montreal. Scottie Upshall scored the other goal. Jaden Schwartz dished out two assists. Jake Allen allowed three goals on 25 shots. Schenn scored his third goal with less than eight minutes left to break a 3-3 tie.

Dallas is 0-4 in the last four meetings. The over is 7-1-3 in the last 11 meetings.

Bet on Stars vs. Blues

Dallas might be due for a victory in this series, but there is a reason the Blues have dominated. It’s due to better defense and goaltending, plus taking advantage of leaky defense by the Stars. But St. Louis also hasn’t been very good defensively as of late, with Allen posting a sub-.900 save percentage over the last few weeks. We think this is the time where Dallas breaks through with a big win.
