Kings vs. Golden Knights Pick
Will the Los Angeles Kings be able to start a winning streak when they hit the road to face the Vegas Golden Knights tonight at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Los Angeles is favored on the road, as the Kings are getting odds of -155 to win, while the Knights are listed with a money line of +140 at home. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 5.5 goals. Tonight’s game takes place from the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
Los Angeles snapped a four-game losing streak on Saturday with a 4-0 win over the Panthers at home. The Kings are 12-6-2 overall and 6-2 on the road. Los Angeles is averaging 3.05 goals per game while allowing just 2.30 per contest. Anze Kopitar has nine goals and 14 assists to lead the team while Dustin Brown has eight goals and 11 assists. Jonathan Quick is 9-6-1 on the season with a 2.31 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
The Knights are coming off a 5-2 win at Vancouver on Thursday night, but they are just 3-6 in their last nine games. Vegas is now 11-6-1 on the season and 7-1 at home. The Knights are scoring 3.56 goals per game, but also allowing 3.06 per contest. The Knights have had injuries to goalies impact their hot start. Malcolm Subban is listed as the starter tonight. He is 2-0 on the season with a 2.06 GAA and a .936 save percentage. He is dealing with a lower body injury as well. James Neal has 10 goals and five assists to lead the team while David Perron has six goals with 11 assists.
These two have yet to meet this season. The Kings seem to have the better roster and certainly their goalie situation is ideal. However, Los Angeles is 2-12 in its last 14 Sunday games and 1-5 in their last six conference games. Vegas has been very tough at home, winning six straight home games. The Knights are also 8-1 in their last nine conference games. The public betting for tonight’s game is not available as of yet, but I like the Knights at home.
