NHL Predictions: Montreal Canadiens vs. Chicago Blackhawks 11/5/17

NHL Predictions: Montreal Canadiens vs. Chicago Blackhawks 11/5/17 NHL Predictions: Montreal Canadiens vs. Chicago Blackhawks 11/5/17

Canadiens vs. Blackhawks Pick

Will the Chicago Blackhawks be able to pick up a win at home over the Montreal Canadiens when the two meet up tonight at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Blackhawks are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -160 to prevail. Montreal is listed with a money line of +145 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 6 goals. Tonight’s game takes place from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Montreal is coming off a 5-4 OT win at Winnipeg on Saturday. The Canadiens have won three of their last four games. The Canadiens are now 5-8-1 overall and 3-6 on the road. The Habs are putting up just 2.71 goals per game this season while allowing 3.93 per game. Shea Weber and Brendan Gallagher each have 11 points to lead the Canadiens while Gallagher also has six goals. Al Montoya is in net tonight. He is 2-1 in net this season with a 3.77 GAA and a .863 save percentage.

Chicago is coming off a 2-0 win at Minnesota on Saturday night for its second straight victory. The Blackhawks are now 7-5-2 overall and 4-2-1 at home. The Blackhawks are scoring 3.07 goals per game while allowing just 2.43 per contest. Patrick Kane has 14 points to lead the team while Brandon Saad has a team-high six goals. Anton Forsberg is starting tonight. He is 0-1-2 in net this season with a 4.25 GAA and a .895 save percentage.

Bet on Canadiens vs. Blackhawks

Chicago has dominated this matchup, winning eight straight meetings with Montreal, including a 3-1 win at Montreal on Oct. 10. The Blackhawks seem to be getting on track, winning their last two games by a combined 5-0. The question is can they win with a backup netminder? I think so, as Montreal is also down to its backup and having a lot of issues keeping the puck out of the net. Montreal also doesn’t have the scoring ability of Chicago. The public betting is surprisingly with the Habs on the road, but I like Chicago at home.
