NHL All-Star Games
The NHL season has reached its break and this afternoon is the NHL All-Star Game. Which teams should bets be placed on in the three mini-games?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Pacific Division is a -120 favorite over the Central Division (-110) at 3:30PM ET. The total is set at 12 goals. In the second game at 4:30PM ET, the Metropolitan Division All-Stars and the Atlantic Division are both listed as a -115 pick’em. The over-under sits at 12.5 goals.
As of Sunday afternoon, 58 percent of public bets are siding with the Pacific Division to defeat the Central Division. In game two, 56 percent of public bets are placed on the Metropolitan Division All-Stars to defeat the Atlantic Division.
Both of these games will undoubtedly be high-scoring affairs. Defense is basically non-existent in All-Star Games, leaving goalies hung out to dry and forced to make spectacular saves if any at all. If that is entertaining viewing for you, by all means tune into NBC this afternoon.
The two winners will then play each other to determine the top division in the NHL. Among the top players involved in today’s affairs will be Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos and Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid.
With no analysis involved, I’m going to take the Pacific Division in the first game and the Atlantic Division in game two. In the championship game, I’ll take the Pacific Division to win the rights to be called the best division in the NHL.
