LINE MOVEMENT

Washington opened as a -150 favorite before the line tightened, while the total has remained at 5.5. The Capitals can be bet between -120 and -130 at various sportsbooks, while Dallas ranges from +105 to +115.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Tuesday afternoon, 79 percent of public bets have sided with Washington. Online wager info also states that 70 percent of bets have come in on the over.

INJURY TO WATCH

Dallas defenseman Marc Methot (hand) is questionable tonight. Goalie Ben Bishop (lower body) is out until early April, while center Martin Hanzal (back) is out for the season. For the Capitals, defenseman Brooks Orpik (lower body) is questionable. Center Evgeny Kuznetsov (lower body) is doubtful.

BETTING STRATEGY

Washington won the previous matchup back in December by a 4-3 count in overtime at Dallas. The Stars have dominated the series in recent years, however, as they have won eight of the last 10 overall and the last six times they have played in Washington. But the Stars have lost five in a row and eight of their last 10, while the Capitals enter in solid form as they had a four-game win streak snapped with a 6-3 loss at the Flyers. I’m going with the hosts here as they are too talented of a team to lose this many home games in a row to Dallas.
