LINE MOVEMENT

San Jose opened as a -175 favorite before the line dropped slightly, while the total has remained at 5.5. The Sharks can be found from a -165 to a -175 favorite, while the Flames range from a +145 to a +155 underdog.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Saturday morning, 83 percent of public bets are pouring in on the Sharks. Online wager info also shows that 61 percent of bets are coming in on the over.

INJURY TO WATCH

Calgary defenseman TJ Brodie (upper body) and left winger Matthew Tkachuk (upper body) are both out tonight. Right winger Kris Versteeg (hip) is out for the season. Left winger Martin Hrivik (undisclosed) is out indefinitely. For San Jose, defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic (face) is probable. Right winger Joonas Donskoi (upper body) is questionable. Right winger Joel Ward (shoulder) and center Joe Thornton (knee) are out indefinitely. Defenseman Joakim Ryan (upper body) is out until early April.

BETTING STRATEGY

When these two teams met in Calgary on March 16, it ended in a high-scoring 7-4 decision in favor of the Sharks. But the previous three meetings, including two this season in December, stayed under the total. I’d imagine both teams will be committed to a stronger defensive effort this time. While the Flames are fairly even on unders at 37-36, the Sharks have been a good hit for unders this season at 41-31. Take the under here.
