NHL Predictions: Will Golden Knights take down Blues? 1/4/18

Golden Knights vs. Blues Pick

Are the Las Vegas Golden Knights going to post yet another victory tonight at the St. Louis Blues? The puck drops at 8PM ET.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Blues are a -120 favorite to win on the moneyline. The Golden Knights are a +100 underdog, while the over-under sits at 5.5 goals.

Las Vegas comes in with a 27-9-0-2 record after a 3-0 shutout home win Tuesday over the Predators. St. Louis is 25-15-2-0 following a 3-0 home shootout win Tuesday against the Devils. The Golden Knights won the first-ever meeting between the franchises on Oct. 21 by a 3-2 score in a shootout on their home ice.

In the win versus Nashville, Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all 29 shots sent his way to record the win. Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith and Shea Theodore scored the goals. Alex Tuch dished out two assists. Smith and Theodore each scored in the second period, while an insurance goal by Marchessault was added in the third.

Brayden Schenn and Vladimir Tarasenko both found the back of the net in the shootout win over New Jersey, while Carter Hutton stopped both attempts sent his way. Vladimir Sobotka and Tarasenko both scored a goal in regulation. Hutton stopped 24 of 26 shots. The goal by Sobotka with 1:52 left in the second period gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead, but the Devils tied it early in the third.

Las Vegas is 7-0 in its last seven games versus a team with a winning record. The under is 11-1 in the last 12 St. Louis home games.

Bet on Golden Knights vs. Blues

It is truly incredible what Las Vegas is doing as an expansion team. Getting up for big matchups is something the Golden Knights have no issue with as seven wins in the last seven chances against teams with a winning record shows. While St. Louis is having a solid season of its own, I want to ride the hottest hand right now and that is Las Vegas. Take the small underdogs.
