Lightning vs. Predators Pick
Are the host Nashville Predators going to take advantage of the Tampa Bay Lightning being on a back-to-back tonight when they play at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Predators are a -115 favorite to win on the moneyline. The Lightning are a -105 underdog, while the total has not been set yet. As of Tuesday morning, public betting info had not been released yet. Click here to check for an update.
Tampa Bay enters with a 33-12-1-2 record after a 2-0 win Monday night at the Blackhawks. Nashville is 28-11-2-4 following a 4-3 home win Saturday over the Panthers. The Predators are 2-0 in the season series, winning 3-1 on their home ice Nov. 21 and 6-1 at Tampa Bay on Jan.5. The over-under has gone 1-1.
In the win at Chicago, Andrei Vasilevskiy was outstanding in goal as he stopped all 40 shots sent his way for the shutout. Yanni Gourde and Chris Kunitz scored one goal apiece. Kunitz broke a scoreless tie with 2:46 left in the second period, while Gourde added an insurance goal with 1:34 left remaining in the third.
Nashville was paced by Kevin Fiala with two goals in the victory against Florida. Nick Bonino contributed a goal and two assists. PK Subban scored the other goal. Calle Jarnkrok dished out three assists. Pekka Rinne accounted for 37 saves on 40 shots to earn the victory.
The home team is 7-2 in the last nine meetings. Tampa Bay is 1-6 in the last seven meetings and 0-6 in the last six meetings in Nashville.
Bet on Lightning vs. Predators
It’s difficult to ignore Tampa Bay’s rough recent history in this series, especially in the second game in as many nights. The Lightning ended a three-game losing skid Monday, but now will likely have a backup goalie on the ice in Louis Dominique, while a tired bunch will be skating in front of him. Nashville is having a fantastic season and I’m liking the hosts to win a third game over Tampa Bay this season.
