Stars vs. Sharks Pick
Can the Dallas Stars take care of business on the road tonight when they battle the San Jose Sharks at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the moneyline is set as a pick’em with the Stars and Sharks both listed at -110. The total is set at 5.5 goals. San Jose opened as a -115 favorite before it came down to a pick’em.
As of Sunday afternoon, 67 percent of public bets are siding with the Sharks. Online wager info also states that 52 percent of bets are being placed on the over.
Dallas has dominated the series as of late, winning the last three contests – 1-0, 6-1 and 6-0 all at home. San Jose won 5-1 the last meeting hosted by the Sharks during the 2016-17 campaign. Overall, the Stars are 6-4 in the last 10 meetings and the over has gone 9-1.
Coming into tonight’s game, Dallas comes in hot with wins in six of its last seven contests. The Stars are 7-3 in their last 10 games and the under has gone 5-4-1. Dallas is also solid on the road with a 13-11-1-2 mark.
San Jose appears on paper to be in good form coming in with wins in three of its last four. But at closer glance, two of the three wins were all at home to lowly opponents in the Oilers and Canucks. Granted, the Sharks did beat a solid team on the road in Anaheim with a 3-2 shootout final but they also managed to lose 2-1 at home to the Coyotes. Dallas is a much tougher foe than three of the last four opponents and arguably better than the Ducks. The Sharks are 5-5 in their last 10 games, while the under has gone 6-4.
I like the Stars to continue having San Jose’s number here. They’re playing great hockey and are facing an opponent that hasn’t seen a lot of solid competition lately.
