Bet NHL Action For Friday, March 16, 2018

LINE MOVEMENT

Las Vegas opened as a -165 favorite before the line was bet down, while the total has stayed at 5.5 goals. The Golden Knights can be found anywhere from a -150 to a -160 favorite if you shop around, while Minnesota ranges from +145 to +135. The total is 5.5 at most books, but can be bet at 6 at various books.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Friday morning, 61 percent of public bets have been plaved on Las Vegas. Online wager info also shows that 73 percent of bets are pouring in on the over.

INJURY TO WATCH

Wild center Luke Kunin (knee) is out for the season, while defenseman Jared Spurgeon (hamstring) is out until mid-April. For the Golden Knights, left winger James Neal (hand) and right winger Reilly Smith (upper body) are both questionable. Goaltender Malcolm Subban (hand) is also questionable. Defenseman Luca Sbisa (undisclosed) is out until early April. Center Oscar Lindberg (brain injury) and left winger William Carrier (shoulder) are both out indefinitely.

BETTING STRATEGY

Minnesota has hosted both meetings this season, winning 4-2 on Nov. 30 and 5-2 on Feb. 2. The over hit both times. Overs are 36-30 in Wild games this season, while the over is 37-31 for Las Vegas. Minnesota has surrendered nine goals in its last two games combined, while Las Vegas’ defense was shredded in an 8-3 home loss to the Devils Wednesday night. Take the over here with neither defense looking sharp lately, especially if Neal and/or Smith are going to return to action.
