According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Chicago is the clear favorite to win this best-of-seven, as the Blackhawks have odds of -320 to win, while the Red Wings have a money line of +260 to win. This is a Western Conference semifinal series with Chicago as the top seed and Detroit as the seventh seed. Game 1 of this series takes place tonight at 8PM ET in Chicago.
Chicago defeated Minnesota in five games to advance to the second round. The Blackhawks are now 40-7-6 overall, 21-3-3 at home and 19-4-3 on the road. Detroit beat second-seeded Anaheim in seven games in the first round. The Red Wings are 28-18-9 overall, 15-8-4 at home and 13-10-5 on the road. These two teams met fur times during the regular season, with Chicago winning all four games. However, three of the contests were won in a shootout or overtime. Chicago has now won seven straight over Detroit and the two teams have scored five goals or less in nine of their last 10 meetings.
