Connor McDavid scored a goal during Monday’s 3-2 OT loss to the Ottawa Senators. McDavid tied the game, 1-1, at the 12:17 mark of the first period and Darnell Nurse scored the game-tying goal in the third frame to force overtime. The Oilers captain has accumulated six points in his last five games. The 25-year-old now has a ridiculous 22 goals and 59 points in just 40 games this season. Not only is he the fastest player in the game, he’s also the best player in the NHL.

Washington Capitals DFS Spin

Skating in for an injured Vitek Vanecek, Ilya Samsonov stopped 43-of-45 shots in Tuesday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. This was just a stellar effort from Samsonov, who wasn’t expected to play in Tuesday’s contest prior to Vanecek being forced out with an upper-body injury just over six minutes into the first period. Samsonov would go on to allow Bryan Rust goals in the first and second periods, but otherwise kept the scoreboard clean while under extreme duress throughout the contest. Depending on how much time Vanecek is forced to miss — and the All-Star break certainly helps matters — Samsonov could see an increased workload over the coming days and weeks. The Capitals aren’t quite on break yet, as they first have to take care of a Wednesday matchup with the Oilers as they wrap a midweek back-to-back.

Oilers vs. Capitals Betting Prediction

The Oilers are 0-4 in their last four games in Washington, D.C., while the home team is 18-6 in the last 24 meetings between these two teams. The Oilers are also just 1-5 in their last six games as a road underdog, are 1-5 in their last six games as an underdog either home or away and are 2-6 in their last eight road games overall. On the other side, the Capitals are 11-5 in their last 16 games playing on zero days of rest.
