Oilers vs. Wild Public Betting: Bettors leaning with Minnesota

As of this writing, our NHL Public Betting Page shows that 53% of bets are on the Wild moneyline. That said, this page is updated frequently so make sure that you click on the link provided to get the most up-to-date public betting information.

McDavid scores lone goal for Oilers

Connor McDavid scored a goal on five shots and added two hits in Monday’s 1-0 win over the Kings. McDavid has just two goals over his last 11 games, but he’s added 12 assists and 28 shots on net in that span. His tally late in the second period Monday was all the Oilers needed to get the win over a division rival. For the season, the 28-year-old superstar has 17 tallies, 42 helpers, 124 shots on net, 25 hits and a plus-11 rating through 40 contests.

Gustavsson allows four goals in loss

Filip Gustavsson stopped 33 of 37 shots in Sunday’s 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights. Gustavsson has not risen to the occasion in his last two starts, allowing a total of 10 goals on 64 shots to the Avalanche and Golden Knights. The 26-year-old netminder has seen a starter’s workload when healthy this season, so it’s possible he may just need a little extra rest to get on track, and that could happen with Marc-Andre Fleury playing well lately. Gustavsson is down to 18-8-3 with a 2.50 GAA and a .917 save percentage through 30 starts. The Wild have another tough matchup next on the schedule, as they host the Oilers on Wednesday.

Oilers vs. Wild Betting Prediction

Kirill Kaprizov has been out with a lower body injury since the end of December. Jared Spurgeon is also on injured reserve with a lower body injury. Jonas Brodin is day-to-day with a lower body injury.

That said, the Wild continue to win. They lost 4-1 to the Wild in their last game and dropped a 6-1 decision to the Avalanche on January 9. Still, they are 7-3 in their last 10 games. They’ve also topped the Oilers in seven out of the last 10 meetings between the two teams. Minnesota is well coached, the team has grit and the Wild are on home ice tonight. They’re worth a flier as a sizable underdog.

Oilers vs. Wild Prediction: MINNESOTA WILD +155
