The total for Saturday afternoon’s matchup in Montreal is sitting at 6.5 goals as the Canadiens host the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. ET. Despite the high number, can bettors still bank on the over cashing?

Florida Panthers Fantasy Spin
Sergei Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 35 shots in Tuesday’s 4-3 road win against the Chicago Blackhawks. Bobrovsky has posted his longest winning streak of the season, as he has wins in four consecutive starts. He improved to 19-12-4 with a 3.24 goals-against average and .898 save percentage. Bob was impressive working for a second straight night, and he’ll have plenty of time to rest with the All-Star break upon us. His hot streak comes at a great time, too, as Chris Driedger is expected to miss several weeks due to injury.
Montreal Canadiens Fantasy Spin
Carey Price stopped 20 of 21 shots in Thursday’s 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Price allowed a power-play goal to Jack Eichel, but he shut the door the rest of the way. In fairness to the situation, the Sabres managed to create just one high-danger scoring chance in the second and third periods. Price now has five wins in his last six games. He owns a 21-17-4 record with a 2.80 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage this season.
Betting Trends
Florida
The Panthers are 6-0 in their last six games overall and are 4-0 in their last four games when listed as the underdog.
Montreal
The Canadiens are 5-2 in their last seven games overall but have been a terrible bet at home, going 4-14 in their last 18 contests in Montreal.
Our Prediction
The under is 15-6-5 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams in Montreal but I’m bucking that trend and taking the over, which has cashed in four of the last five meetings between these two teams overall. The over is also 49-24-2 in the Panthers’ last 75 games overall, is 10-4 in their last 14 games as a road underdog and are 37-16-2 in their last 55 games following a win. The over is also 11-5 in the Canadiens’ last 16 games played on Saturday.
Saturday NHL Prediction: Panthers/Canadiens OVER 6.5
