Florida Panthers Fantasy Spin
Sergei Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 22 shots in Saturday’s 3-2 home loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Bob fell behind 2-0 after Kris Letang and Teddy Blueger posted goals in the first 10:44 of the opening period. The veteran tendy settled down, allowing just a power-play goal to Sidney Crosby the rest of the way, but his offense was unable to get much past All-Star Tristan Jarry. The Panthers will regroup and try and get back in the win column Monday night in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Flyers Fantasy Spin
Brian Elliott allowed two goals on 27 shots in Saturday’s 7-2 road victory against the Washington Capitals. Elliott’s production has been rather erratic lately, posting a shutout on Jan. 21, four goals in a loss on Jan. 31, a shutout on Feb. 3, four goals allowed last time out on Thursday and this win. Overall he is 14-6-4 with a 2.86 goals-against average and .906 save percentage in his 28 appearances so far this season. Treat him as more of a low-end No. 2 fantasy backstop, although his regular playing time might be coming to an end with Carter Hart nearing a return.
Our Prediction
The under is 18-8-1 in the last 27 meetings between these two teams and is 10-3-1 in the last 14 meetings when the game is in Philadelphia. The under is also a perfect 7-0 in the Panthers’ last seven games versus Metropolitan competition and is 9-4 in their last 13 games when their opponent allows two goals or less in their previous game. On the other side, the under is 4-1 in the Flyers’ last five home games, is 4-1 in their last five games coming off a win and has cashed in all four of their games when they’re listed as a favorite.
Monday NHL Prediction: Panthers/Flyers UNDER 6.5
