Bobrovsky suffers tough loss to Aves
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 31 of 33 shots in Monday’s 3-1 loss to the Avalanche, with Colorado’s final goal getting scored into an empty net. The veteran netminder had a shutout going late in the second period until Devon Toews’ point shot hit the crossbar, bounced off the ice and then caromed into the net off Bobrovsky’s backside to tie the game at 1-1. Toews then scored again midway through the third, and the Panthers couldn’t find a response. Bobrovsky has lost three of his last four starts despite playing well due to a sudden lack of offensive support — the Panthers scored just two goals total in those four games. Over his last 10 outings, Bobrovsky is 6-4-0 with a 2.28 GAA and a .919 save percentage.
Vejmelka set to face Florida
Karel Vejmelka will be between the pipes in Wednesday’s home matchup against the Panthers, according to Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports. Vejmelka is 1-0-1 through two starts in January while stopping a combined 49 of 55 shots in that span (.891 save percentage, 2.95 GAA). Florida ranks ninth in the NHL with 3.24 goals per game this season, but the team is 2-4-0 in its last six games. The 28-year-old Vejmelka has a 1-4-0 record, 3.91 GAA and .904 save percentage across five career games against the Panthers.
Panthers vs. Hockey Club Betting Prediction
Take the under. The Panthers have struggled offensively of late, scoring a combined five goals over their last three games. The under cashed in all three of those contests and is also 3-6-1 in their last 10 games overall. On the other side, the under has hit in six out of Utah’s last 10 games, which includes cashing in four out of the Hockey Club’s last six games overall.
Panthers vs. Hockey Club Prediction: UNDER 6
