Florida Panthers DFS Spin

Chris Driedger stopped 32 of 35 shots in Wednesday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Driedger had another fantastic performance against the Hurricanes. With the win, he has the same record as teammate Sergei Bobrovsky but has considerably better numbers. Driedger’s best save came at the dying moments of the third period when Nino Niederreiter picked up his own rebound but the netminder kicked out his leg to rob him of the game-winning goal. If the 26-year-old keeps putting together performances like his last two, head coach Joel Quenneville will have no choice but to keep Bobrovsky glued to the bench. Driedger has a 5-1-1 record with a 2.39 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage.

Detroit Red Wings DFS Spin

Jonathan Bernier allowed one goal on 25 shots in Wednesday’s 2-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks opened the scoring when Philipp Kurashev scored a brilliant power-play goal in the second frame that Bernier had no chance of stopping. The Red Wings goaltenders haven’t been horrible this year, but the lack of quality in front of them has hurt their numbers. Bernier owns a 3-2-0 record with a 2.83 goals-against-average and a .898 save percentage this season. It’s tough to trust Bernier and Thomas Greiss in fantasy in 2021.

Panthers vs. Red Wings NHL Prediction

The under is a perfect 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams and has cashed in four of the last five meetings in Detroit. The under is also 6-0 in the Panthers’ last six games as a favorite, is 5-1 in their last six games versus a team with a losing record and is 4-1 in their last five games as a road favorite. On the other side, the under is 6-1 in the Red Wings’ last seven games overall, is 10-2 in their last 12 games after allowing two goals or less in their previous game and has cashed in seven of Detroit’s last eight games when playing on one day of rest.

NHL PREDICTION: PANTHERS/RED WINGS UNDER 5.5
