Stamkos scores power-play goal in loss
Steven Stamkos scored a power-play goal on three shots, added a power-play assist and went minus-2 in Friday’s 7-4 loss to the Blues. Stamkos has four goals and five assists over his last eight games, getting on the scoresheet in seven of them. He and Jonathan Marchessault assisted on each other’s goals Friday. Stamkos is up to 22 points (12 on the power play), 82 shots on net, 31 hits, 22 PIM and a minus-12 rating over 36 appearances this season, but he’s found success centering Marchessault and Filip Forsberg in recent weeks.
Connor scores even-strength goal
Kyle Connor scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Senators. The veteran winger sparked a comeback from a 2-0 deficit with a one-timer from the slot midway through the second period. Connor extended his point streak to six games with the performance, a blistering stretch in which he’s erupted for six goals and 13 points.
Predators vs. Jets Betting Prediction
The Jets are hot entering play tonight with the Predators. They’ve won three straight games by a combined score of 14-4 against the Wild, Maple Leafs and Senators, respectively. They’ve scored at least four goals in five of their last six games, with the lone exception coming in Anaheim on December 18 when they were held to just two goals in a 3-2 loss.
On the other side, the Preds goal prevention has been okay of late, holding opponents to two or fewer goals in three out of their last five games. That said, they just surrendered seven goals in a 7-4 loss to the Blues and have allowed five or more goals in three of their last six games.
Predators vs. Jets Prediction: Winnipeg Jets over 3.5 Goals (+108)
