Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky previously shared the Rangers’ record for most assists by a forward, so Panarin is in very good company. That said, Panarin still ranks third in assists in a single season by a Rangers player overall. Sergei Zubrov and Brian Leetch each had more helpers than Panarin. The record is Leetch’s 80.
Boston Bruins DFS Spin
The Boston Bruins power play has not scored in their last 29 chances. Boy, to they miss the injured David Pastrnak! Pastrnak has been out of action since Apr. 5 and the last time the Bruins scored was on Apr. 2 when Erik Haula scored. “Some of the open plays we’re getting now, teams are cramming things. We’re working on low plays,” coach Bruce Cassidy said after Thursday’s game. “Our power play, for years, has ran around the four forwards that are low. We’re off net with it. (Matt Grzelcyk’s) missed the net. Charlie’s (McAvoy) missed it a couple of times. You’re gonna have to get some of those shots. “Eventually, you got to hit the net with your chances if you expect to come out of a funk. Some of them we did. We made a couple of bang-bang low plays. Puck recovery was good. (Craig Smith) he had one. Haula was in there, but when you’re moving it around, finding the open look, those got to be on net, recovery and then the nice plays happen.” Pastrnak could return on Sunday from his undisclosed injury and that should help as it couldn’t get any worse.
