Artemi Panarin scored the game-winning goal in Sunday’s 4-3 Game 7 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Panarin came up empty on his first five attempts of the contest, but all it takes in overtime is one successful hit. Thus was the case in Game 7 on Sunday, with Panarin netting the winner through traffic against Tristan Jarry to send the Rangers into the Eastern Semifinals (against Carolina) with all kinds of good vibes. Panarin notched three goals and seven points across seven games versus the Penguins.

Frederik Andersen’s availability for the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs is doubtful because of a lower-body injury. Andersen has been sidelined since Apr. 16 and he hasn’t practiced yet during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Coach Rod Brind’Amour is hopeful that Andersen can return at some point in the postseason. “I would hope so, especially if we can move on,” Brind’Amour said on Monday. “Until he gets out there with us, you might as well stop asking me.” Antti Raanta will be in charge of the crease for the Hurricanes until Andersen can return.
