Wings looking to end losing skid
DETROIT, MI (TheSpread) – The Detroit Red Wings are hoping to put an end to a four-game losing streak on Friday when they host the New York Islanders at 7:30PM ET.
Detroit is 17-7-8 on the season and 11-3-5 at home while New York is 21-10 overall and 9-7 on the road. These two haven’t met this season, but the Islanders have won six of their last seven meetings with the Red Wings and the two have hit the over in four of their last six encounters.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Red Wings are favored to get the win at home, as they are getting odds of -135 to win, while the Islanders have been given odds of +115 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 5.5 goals.
Detroit is riding a four-game losing streak right now, though three of the four losses have come in a shootout. The Red Wings have secured at least a point in six of their last seven home games and their games have produced five goals or less in six straight. New York has won its last two games, both at home. The Islanders are just 1-3 in their last four road games and they have hit the under in five of their last eight games.
