Sabres Season Odds
Are the Buffalo Sabres ready to build upon their 39 wins from a season ago? Oddsmakers have established the Sabres’ odds to win the 2009 Stanley Cup at 25/1.
The biggest move the Sabres made this offseason was inking goalie Ryan Miller to a new five-year deal. In 76 games last year, Miller finished with a .906 save percentage. Along with Montreal and Ottawa, Buffalo has one of the best goal tending situations in the division and conference.
The Sabres also have one of the best young offenses in the Northeast Division, which features Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville and Derek Roy. Vanek finished with 36 goals last year, while Roy had 32 and Pominville 27.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have listed the Sabres odds to win the 2009 Stanley Cup at 37/1. Bodog has Buffalo at 25/1, while Sportsbook.com gives the Sabres an 30/1 shot.
Oddsmakers have also listed Buffalo as an 18/1 favorite to win the Eastern Conference this season.
The Sabres once again have a solid, young club. Miller is going to keep them in every game and give offensive players Vanek, Pominville and Roy opportunities to put points on the board. Forwards Daniel Paille and Drew Stafford round out Buffalo’s explosive offensive unit. If the Sabres can string more consecutive wins together at home, they could be a surprise contender in not only the Northeast Division, but the Stanley Cup as well.
