Brent Burns picked up a goal and a pair of assists in Monday’s 5-4 loss against the St. Louis Blues. Burns registered a pair of secondary helpers in the first period to get the night off on the right foot, and he banged in a power-play goal midway through the second period which gave the Sharks a brief 3-2 advantage. He also assisted fantasy owners with four shots on goal and a pair of blocked shots, although that was likely negated in most pools due to his minus-2 rating. He’ll look to keep up the scoring ways in Wednesday’s second end of the double dip in St. Louis.
St. Louis Blues DFS Spin
Jordan Binnington allowed four goals on 26 shots in Monday’s 5-4 win over the San Jose Sharks. The Blues were down 2-0 heading into the first intermission, but they managed to score four goals in the middle frame thanks to Justin Faulk (twice), Mike Hoffman and Brayden Schenn. Binnington struggled early on in this one, but he managed to come up with some important saves late when the Blues were up by a goal. The 27-year-old has a 2-1-0 record with a 3.38 goals-against-average and a .883 save percentage in 2021. St. Louis needs their starter to be sharp if they’re going to make some noise in their division.
Sharks vs. Blues Prediction
The over is 5-0 in the Sharks’ last five games overall, is 5-0 in their last five games as an underdog and is 5-0 in their last five road games. On the other side, the over is also 4-0 in the Blues’ last four games as a home favorite, is 4-0 in their last four home games and has cashed in four of their last five games overall.
