Martin Jones allowed two goals on 28 shots in Monday’s 3-2 home win against the Anaheim Ducks. Jones fell behind just 50 seconds into the game, as Sam Steel struck with help from Jakob Silfverberg and Danton Heinen. It looked like it might be a long night, but Jones shut it down and the Sharks rattled off three unanswered goals to stake him to a 3-1 lead. Max Comtois made things interesting at 2:00 of the third period, cutting the lead to 3-2, but that was the final tally of the evening. He improved to 6-4-0 with a 3.75 goals-against average and .873 save percentage in his 10 starts this season. The Sharks are back at it Thursday night in St. Louis.
St. Louis Blues DFS Spin
Jordan Binnington stopped 18 of 19 shots in a 1-0 loss to Arizona on Monday. Binnington had a 2-2-1 record during what became a seven-game set versus the Coyotes. Ville Husso had a victory and a loss in the other two matches. Clayton Keller was the only goal scorer in Monday’s contest and it drops Binnington’s record to 7-3-2 on the year.
Sharks vs. Blues Prediction
The over has cashed in eight of the Sharks’ last 11 games as a road underdog and is 10-4 in their last 14 road games. On the other side, the over is 5-1 in the Blues’ last six home games, is 7-3 in their last 10 games versus an opponent like San Jose that has a losing record and is a perfect 5-0 in St. Louis’ last five games when its opponent allowed two goals or less in its previous contest.
