O’Reilly guides Blues to win
Ryan O’Reilly scored two goals including the go-ahead tally in the third period Monday night in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals to send St. Louis to a 4-2 home victory over Boston. O’Reilly opened the scoring 43 seconds into the contest to give St. Louis the advantage with assists going to Zach Sanford and Vince Dunn. The Bruins evened it up at 1-1 later in the first period, but the Blues scored a couple minutes later via Victor Tarasenko to go back ahead 2-1. Alex Pietrangelo and Brayden Schenn assisted on the score. Boston tied it up again at 2-2 and remained that way until midway through the third period when O’Reilly broke the tie off assists from Pietrangelo and Carl Gunnarsson. Schenn added an empty-net goal with 1:29 remaining to close it out. Jordan Binnington registered 21 saves on 23 shots in the winning effort.
Bruins doubled up in Game 4
Boston lost by a score of 4-2 Monday night in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals at St. Louis as the series is now even at two games apiece. The Blues opened the scoring in the first minute of the first period, while the Bruins tied it at 1-1 at the 6:46 mark as Charlie Coyle scored off an assist by Zdeno Chara. St. Louis regained the lead a couple minutes later at 2-1. Boston tied it again with 5:41 remaining in the second period off a shorthanded goal from Brandon Carlo off assists from Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. The Blues scored the go-ahead goal with 9:22 left in the third period before later adding an empty-net goal. Tuukka Rask took the loss between the pipes as he surrendered three goals on 37 shots.

Prediction:
Boston dominated Game 3 and had a shot in Game 4, but ultimately the Blues made more key plays down the stretch with O’Reilly having a major impact all game. But back in Boston, I think Rask and company are up to the challenge. Binnington has been up-and-down this series and in a pivotal game, I trust the veteran goalie more. St. Louis has had a lot of success in Boston, but those trends tend to even out over time and I’ll go with the more seasoned roster tonight.
