Alexander Radulov (lower body) is considered to be a game-time decision for Saturday’s match against Columbus. Radulov was a full participant at Thursday’s practice and he looked good again during Friday’s session in what coach Rick Bowness called a game-like practice. He has been sidelined since Feb. 4 due to a lower-body injury, but he appears to be very close to being ready to return. Radulov has three goals and 11 points in eight outings this campaign.

Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella looked for the silver lining in Columbus’ 5-4 overtime loss to Florida. What made that loss particularly disheartening was the fact that the Blue Jackets led 4-1 before Florida rallied. “Obviously, it’s a tough way to lose the game, but we’ll focus on the things that we’re improving at, and we’ll keep on trying to get better,” said coach Tortorella. “There is a number of players (who) I think are improving and I think our whole concept of how we’re trying to play is getting better. You may think I’m nuts saying it, after losing a game like this, but I am going to look to the stuff that got us to the point where we’re 4-1.” It’s not nuts for Tortorella to reinforce the positives in an effort to build on them. The Blue Jackets have posted a 3-7-3 record over their last 13 games, so confidence is probably down and anything Tortorella can do to build that back up might be helpful for his team.
Islanders vs. Rangers Prediction
The Stars are just 1-6 in their last seven trips to Columbus and are 2-10 in their last 12 meetings with the Blue Jackets. They’re also 3-12 in their last 15 games overall, are 1-4 in their last five road games and are 3-7 in their last 10 games when playing on only one day of rest. Dallas is just 1-6 in its last seven games when facing an opponent like Columbus that has a losing record as well.
