Fleury in goal vs. Habs

Marc-Andre Fleury will get the starting nod on the road versus Montreal on Thursday, Kevin Falness of KFAN reports. Fleury will guard the cage against his hometown club for the final time on his retirement tour. The 40-year-old backstop has put up solid numbers this year, going 10-5-1 with a 2.76 GAA and .904 save percentage. With the Wild heading into a back-to-back, it will be Filip Gustavsson between the pipes for Wednesday’s road clash with Toronto before Fleury gets the nod Thursday.

Heineman placed on injured reserve

Emil Heineman was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, per the NHL media site. Heineman was involved in a traffic accident in mid-January in which he sustained an upper-body injury that was expected to sideline him for 3-4 weeks. It’s unclear whether he’ll be able to return before the 4 Nations Face-Off, but his placement on injured reserve won’t impact his return timetable, as he’s already missed the last eight games.

Wild vs. Canadiens Betting Prediction

The Wild have been on an impressive run against the Habs. In the last 10 meetings between these two team, Minnesota is 9-1. That includes an eight-game winning streak versus Montreal. The Wild have also won back-to-back games, holding their last two opponents – the Blackhawks and Maple Leafs – two a combined three goals. As for the Habs, they carry a three-game losing streak into tonight’s matchup.
