Marchessault scores twice to lead Las Vegas
Golden Knights center Jonathan Marchessault has been a revelation for the expansion squad this season, scoring 27 goals and dishing out 48 assists in 77 regular season games. He had one of his best games of the playoffs Monday night in Game 2 at Winnipeg as his two goals helped lead Las Vegas to a 3-1 victory to even the series at a game apiece. Marchessault made it 2-0 with 2:38 remaining in the first period, coming after Tomas Tatar scored his first goal of the postseason four minutes earlier. The Jets managed to cut it to 2-1 on a Kyle Connor goal with 12:43 left in the game, but Marchessault added his second goal of the game shortly thereafter to make it a 3-1 contest which stood up until the finish. It was Marchessault’s sixth goal of the playoffs. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 30 of 31 shots to record the win. For Winnipeg, Connor Hellebuyck suffered the loss as he surrendered three goals on 28 shots.
Perron probable to play
Left winger David Perron is dealing with an illness, but the Golden Knights have him listed as probable to play in Game 3. Perron registered 16 goals and 50 assists in 70 regular season games. He has yet to score a goal in the playoffs, but has accounted for seven assists in nine games. Las Vegas left winger William Carrier (upper body) remains questionable, while defenseman Clayton Stoner (abdominal) has been out since October. Jets defenseman Dmitry Kulikov (back) has been out over two months and there is no timetable for his return to action.

The Jets are 4-1 in their last five road games. The under is 4-0-1 in the last five Winnipeg games vs. the Pacific Division.

Prediction:
Las Vegas was strong in all aspects of Game 2 and I expect it to stay that way tonight in an arena where its been dominant all season. The Golden Knights are 33-10-2-1 at T-Mobile Arena this season, so I don’t think it is unreasonable to have a lot of confidence in paying the juice on the favorites.
