Jets hold on against Kings
Winnipeg scored the decisive goal in the second period Tuesday at home to edge Los Angeles by a count of 2-1. Kyle Connor scored what turned out to be the game-winner on the power play midway through the period. Blake Wheeler and Dustin Byfuglien assisted on the score. Mark Scheifele scored the first goal for the Jets on assists from Brandon Tanev and Josh Morrissey. Connor Hellebuyck picked up the win in net as he stopped 16 of 17 shots sent his way.
Preds shut out at home by Flames
Nashville suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday night with a 3-0 home defeat against Calgary. The Flames scored once in each period to ease to the win. Kevin Fiala and Mattias Eckholm paced the Predators offense with four shots on goal apiece. Pekka Rinne surrendered three goals on 27 shots in the loss.
NHL Betting Trends
Winnipeg
The under is 3-0-2 in the last five Jets games. The road team is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
Nashville
The Predators are 5-0 in their last five games following a loss by three or more goals. The over is 7-2 in the last nine meetings in Nashville.
Prediction:
Nashville has done well in recent history after rough losses and it has a revenge spot here after the crushing Game 7 loss. Winnipeg looks to be strong again this season, but in this spot I think the Predators have enough to hold off the visitors.
