Forsberg, Arvidsson help force Game 7
Top-seeded Nashville needed a win in Winnipeg to force a Game 7 and it came through with flying colors as Viktor Arvidsson and Filip Forsberg scored two goals apiece in a 4-0 victory. Not to be outshined, veteran goaltender Pekka Rinne stopped all 34 shots sent his way to record the shutout. Arvidsson opened the scoring a little over a minute into the game, while Forsberg scored with 11:44 to go in the second period to make it 2-0. Forsberg added his seventh goal of the playoffs to push the score to 3-0 in the third period, while Arvidsson clinched it with his seventh goal of the postseason with 4:02 remaining.
Fisher questionable for tonight’s game
Predators veteran center Mike Fisher is listed as questionable tonight with an undisclosed injury. Fisher only saw 2:58 of ice time in Game 6 before leaving the contest with the injury. Fisher only has one goal and no assists in 12 playoff games. He had two goals and two assists in 16 regular season games, missing much of the season with injury. Fisher has been a valuable grind line performer and penalty killer since joining Nashville in 2010 after playing his previous years in Ottawa.
NHL Betting Trends
Winnipeg
The Jets are 4-0 in their last four games played on two days of rest. The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Nashville.
Nashville
The Predators are 0-5 in their last five games following a win. Nashville is 4-1 in its last five games played on two days of rest.
Prediction:
The Predators looked great in Game 6, but they haven’ been able to show consistency and string wins together lately. With these two squads being so closeley matched, I’m going to stick with the strategy of going for the plus money on the underdog. Nashville has all the pressure on it being the home favorite and I feel Winnipeg can take advantage of that.
