Jets edged at home
Winnipeg lost by a count of 4-3 Friday night at home against St. Louis in Game 2 of its best-of-7 Western Conference quarterfinals series. The Blues got on the board first, but the Jets tied it up on a Blake Wheeler goal with 7:59 to go in the first period. It was assisted by Mark Scheifele and Andrew Copp. Patrik Laine scored on the power play 2:49 into the second period to give the hosts a 2-1 advantage with assists going to Wheeler and Dustin Byfuglien. St. Louis scored twice later in the second to go back ahead at 3-2, but Scheifele scored on the power play with 1:05 left in the second to even it up at 3-3. Kyle Connor and Byfuglien drew assists on the score. The Blues broke the tie early in the third period and held on from there. Connor Hellebuyck registered 28 saves on 32 shots in the defeat.
Blues win again as small dogs
St. Louis earned a 4-3 road win Friday night at Winnipeg to go ahead 2-0 in the Western Conference quarterfinals. Oskar Sundqvist gave the Blues a 1-0 advantage 5:23 in off assists by Jay Bouwmeester and Jaden Schwartz. The Jets scored the next two goals, but St. Louis evened it up with a Patrick Maroon goal at the 13:18 mark of the second period to tie the score at 2-2. Robert Thomas and Alex Pietrangelo drew assists. Sundqvist scored his second goal of the contest midway through the second on assists from David Perron and Joel Edmundson. The Jets evened the score late in the second period, but Ryan O’Reilly tacked on the go-ahead goal 3:46 into the third period. Bouwmeester and Colton Parayko drew assists. Jordan Binnington secured 26 saves on 29 shots in the winning effort.
Winnipeg
The Jets are 23-6 in their last 29 Sunday games. Winnipeg is 3-7 in its last 10 playoff games as an underdog.
St. Louis

Prediction:
Winnipeg needs a win in the worst way and after a couple close encounters at home, it won’t the home backing for this contest. The Blues have played with a ton of confidence the last few months and have been riding rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington. This is going to be a tall task to get back in the series for the Jets against such a discliplined and defensive-minded squad. I’m taking St. Louis to go up by a commanding 3-0 in the series.
