DENVER (AP) -Center T.J. Hensick is expected to make his NHL debut at San Jose on Friday night after being recalled by the Colorado Avalanche from the AHL affiliate.
The 21-year-old leads the Lake Erie Monsters in scoring with 13 points in 18 games.
A third-round draft pick in 2005, Hensick scored 69 points in 41 games as a senior at Michigan last season, winning the Central Collegiate Hockey Association scoring title. He was a Hobey Baker Award finalist and led the country in assists (1.12) and points (1.68) per game.
The Avalanche reassigned forward Brad Richardson to Lake Erie.
