-Marc-Andre Fleury, Penguins, stopped 36 shots as Pittsburgh won its third straight, 1-0 over the Rangers.
-Paul Kariya, Blues, scored a goal and had three assists as St. Louis defeated Anaheim 4-2.
-Michael Cammalleri scored twice for an NHL-leading 10 goals, and Los Angeles blanked Nashville 6-0, the Predators’ sixth consecutive loss.
BLANKED AGAIN
The Rangers’ 1-0 loss at Pittsburgh on Tuesday night marked the first time in the history of the Original Six franchise that New York absorbed back-to-back 1-0 defeats, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
STREAKS
Rick Nash extended his goal streak to four games (five goals, three assists) with two goals in Columbus’ 7-4 victory over Chicago on Tuesday night.
HOMECOMING
Tyler Arnason had a goal and assist and Colorado made former captain Ryan Smyth’s return to Edmonton successful with a 4-2 victory Tuesday night. It was the first road victory in five tries this season for the Avalanche. The Oilers have lost six of seven and are winless in five games against Northwest Division rivals.

The Rangers, who have lost four straight and six of seven following a 1-0 defeat in Pittsburgh on Tuesday night, have gone 181 minutes, 9 seconds without scoring an even-strength goal. New York, winless in five road games, has a league-worst 13 goals in eight games. … Anaheim fell to 0-5-1 away from home following a 4-2 loss in St. Louis. Manny Legace improved to 9-1-1 against the Ducks and hasn’t lost to them since Nov. 16, 1998.

Chicago’s Patrick Kane, the first overall pick in this year’s draft, had two goals and two assists to record his third straight multipoint game in a 7-4 loss to Columbus on Tuesday night. He leads the Blackhawks with 13 points (three goals, 10 assists). Jonathan Toews, the Blackhawks’ first-round pick (third overall) in 2006, has points in each of his first seven NHL games (three goals, four assists).
DOMINANT
Atlanta’s 5-4 shootout win on Tuesday night was its fourth victory over Toronto in five meetings dating to last season. … Pittsburgh is 6-1-2 against the Rangers the last two seasons following a 1-0 victory.
SIDELINED
Islanders defenseman Bryan Berard will be sidelined two to four weeks because of a groin injury that forced him out of New York’s victory against New Jersey last weekend. He had two goals and two assists in five games.
