-Joffrey Lupul and R.J. Umberger, Flyers. Lupul had a hat trick and six points and Umberger also scored three goals to lift Philadelphia to an 8-2 win over Pittsburgh.
-Shawn Horcoff, Oilers, had a goal and an assist and scored the only goal in three rounds of a shootout to help Edmonton beat St. Louis 5-4.
-Steve Bernier and Evgeni Nabokov, Sharks. Bernier scored two goals and Nabokov made 36 saves in San Jose’s 4-1 win over Minnesota.
FLYING HIGH
Philadelphia’s Joffrey Lupul had a hat trick and three assists in an 8-2 win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday night to record the first six-point game for a Flyer since Eric Lindros on March 1, 1997, against Toronto. R.J. Umberger also scored three times and the Flyers had two players with a hat trick in the same game for the first time since Tim Kerr and Dave Poulin against the Islanders on Dec. 18, 1986.
SNAPPED
Philadelphia ended a five-game home losing streak with an 8-2 win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. The loss ended Pittsburgh’s four-game win streak. … St. Louis’ six-game home winning streak ended with a 5-4 shootout loss to Edmonton.
RETURN
Calgary’s 2-1 shootout win over Florida on Tuesday night marked the return of Mike Keenan to South Florida. Keenan coached the Panthers for two-plus seasons from 2001-02 until being fired in December of 2003. He served as Florida’s general manager in 2005-06.
SLUMPING
Montreal lost 3-2 to Tampa Bay in a shootout Tuesday night and has lost six straight at home. The Canadiens have lost six of eight overall (2-4-2).

Doug Weight had two goals and an assist in St. Louis’ 5-4 loss to Edmonton.
