-Ryan Whitney and Kris Letang, Penguins. Whitney had two goals and Letang scored the winner with 3:39 to play and Pittsburgh outlasted the New York Islanders 4-3.
-Vaclav Prospal, Lightning, scored 58 seconds into overtime to give Tampa Bay a 2-1 win over Nashville.
-Darcy Tucker and Vesa Toskala, Maple Leafs. Tucker scored twice and Toskala made 34 saves and Toronto topped Montreal 4-2.
-Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Ducks, made 32 saves and Anaheim defeated the New York Rangers 4-1.
-Niklas Hagman, Stars, scored the only goal in Dallas’ 1-0 win over Minnesota.

Dany Heatley returned to the Ottawa lineup after missing 11 games with a shoulder injury and had two goals and an assist in a 5-4 win over Florida on Thursday night. The Senators were 3-8-0 without him.
ROAD WARRIORS
Tampa Bay posted its sixth straight road victory Thursday night, 2-1 in overtime at Nashville. The Lightning started the season 3-14-3 away from the St. Pete Times Forum. … Dallas has won five straight on the road, five in a row overall and eight of 10 after holding off Minnesota 1-0.
FINALLY
Vancouver won for just the second time when trailing after two periods (2-19-1), rallying for a 2-1 win at Atlanta on Thursday night. The Canucks also ended a streak of four straight losses by one goal, including three on their road trip to Tampa Bay, Florida and Dallas.
WESTERN WOES
The New York Rangers fell to 0-7-2 against Western Conference teams this season after falling to Anaheim 4-1 on Thursday night. The Ducks, who hadn’t played at Madison Square Garden since Oct. 28, 2003, improved to 12-3-4 against the Rangers – 6-2-2 in New York.
SIDELINED
Los Angeles placed defenseman Rob Blake on injured reserve with an ankle injury Thursday, and recalled goaltender Dan Cloutier from the Manchester of the AHL. The 38-year-old Blake is expected to be sidelined for about two weeks. … Dallas defenseman Sergei Zubov was placed on injured reserve because of a groin injury and goalie Marty Turco missed the game against Minnesota with a sore neck.
