Rick DiPietro started Game 2 of the Islanders’ first-round playoff series against Buffalo on Saturday, returning to the New York net after missing three weeks with post-concussion symptoms. He made 32 saves and helped New York tie the quarterfinal series at a game apiece with a 3-2 victory.
DECISIONS MADE
The NHL on Saturday suspended Predators rookie forward Alexander Radulov for one game for a hitting-from-behind incident involving Sharks forward Steve Bernier in Game 2 of Nashville’s first-round series with San Jose on Friday night. Also Saturday, the NHL rescinded two game misconducts called on Predators forward Scott Hartnell, meaning he won’t have to sit out a game in the series with the Sharks.

The New York Rangers have taken the first two games of their quarterfinal series against Atlanta after a 2-1 victory on Saturday. The next two games are in New York, giving the Rangers a chance to clinch the series without coming back to Atlanta.

Ottawa lost for the seventh straight time after winning the first game of a playoff series after its 4-3 defeat to Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Detroit’s Todd Bertuzzi has a concussion and neck injury and will not play Sunday against Calgary in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series.
