PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Simon Gagne appears to be done for the season.
The Flyers forward was told Wednesday to sit out the rest of the year because of lingering symptoms of three concussions suffered this season. Gagne visited a concussion specialist named James Kelly who suggested that Gagne not try and play again this season.
“His advice to Simon was to shut it down for the remainder of the season,” Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. “As soon as we have had the opportunity to speak further with Dr. Kelly and Simon we can shed more light on this. Needless to say, we are very disappointed with this news.”
