MONTREAL (AP) -Former hockey star Guy Lafleur turned himself over to Montreal police Thursday, a day after a warrant was drawn up for his arrest for giving contradictory evidence as a witness at his son’s bail hearing.
Lafleur’s lawyer, Jean-Pierre Rancourt, told French-language television network TVA that Lafleur handed himself over to authorities.
Rancourt originally said Lafleur would meet with police on Friday.
Rancourt said Lafleur was released on a promise to appear at the Montreal courthouse on Feb. 7.
