NEW YORK (AP) -Corey Perry and Chris Kunitz scored 1:27 apart to break open a tight game in the second period, and the Anaheim Ducks beat the New York Rangers 4-1 on Thursday night.
The defending Stanley Cup champions have found their offense in a pair of road wins this week against New York’s Islanders and Rangers following a six-game losing streak (0-5-1).
Mathieu Schneider staked the Ducks to a lead in the first, before Ryan Callahan tied it for the Rangers, who dropped their second straight home game to a team from Southern California.
Los Angeles topped New York 4-2 on Tuesday, and the Rangers are winless against the Western Conference this season (0-7-2). They got 33 shots at Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who came in off a pair of shutouts, but couldn’t make them count.
Todd Bertuzzi made it 4-1 with 7:47 left, 15 seconds after a Rangers power play created lots of pressure but didn’t click. Anaheim is 2-3-1 on its club-record, nine-game trip that continues Friday in New Jersey.
Canucks 2, Thrashers 1
eted a rare third-period rally for Vancouver.
Burrows’ goal 11:14 into the third period came after contact between teammate Ryan Kesler and Atlanta’s Eric Perrin in front of the goal that led to Perrin’s stick apparently knocking goalie Kari Lehtonen off his feet. Lehtonen was sitting on his backside in front of the net and was unable to defend Burrows’ shot.
Daniel Sedin scored on a power play for Vancouver early in the third period after a second-period goal by Pascal Dupuis gave the Thrashers a 1-0 lead.
The Canucks had been 1-19-1 this season when trailing after two periods.
Roberto Luongo stopped 26 shots for Vancouver, which ended a streak of four straight losses by one goal.
Maple Leafs 4, Canadiens 2
MONTREAL (AP) – Darcy Tucker scored his second goal of the game into an empty net and Vesa Toskala made 34 saves for Toronto.
Kris Newbury and Kyle Wellwood also scored for the Maple Leafs, who had lost four of five (1-3-1).
Tomas Plekanec scored his 20th goal to tie his career high and Alex Kovalev got his 25th for Montreal, which entered the game one point behind Ottawa for the Northeast Division and Eastern Conference leads.
Tucker, who got his eighth goal with 29 seconds remaining to put the game away, scored 1:24 into the second to give Toronto its first lead at 2-1. Wellwood made it 3-1 with a power-play goal late in the period.
