ST. LOUIS (AP) -Rookie David Perron scored twice in St. Louis’ four-goal second period and the Blues rallied from two down to beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 Tuesday night.
The Blues, who snapped a three-game losing streak, fell behind 2-0 but stormed back in the middle frame against goalie Dominik Hasek. Keith Tkachuk and Jamal Mayers joined Perron in the scoring spurt, and the final three goals came in a span of four shots.
Pavel Datsyuk, Dan Cleary and Valtteri Filppula scored for Detroit, who lost the lead in the second period despite holding a 17-7 shots advantage in the frame. The Red Wings dropped their second straight following a nine-game winning streak.
Hasek was replaced by Chris Osgood at 15:51 of the second after allowing four goals on 12 shots.
Thrashers 3, Panthers 2, OT
ATLANTA (AP) – Ilya Kovalchuk scored in the first minute of overtime, 27 seconds after Marian Hossa forced the extra period with a power-play goal in Atlanta’s victory over Florida.
Kovalchuk’s NHL-leading 15th goal gave the Thrashers their fourth win in five games. The 24-year-old Russian forward has 12 points, including nine goals, in his last six games.
Florida has lost four straight and five of six.
The Thrashers had a two-man skating advantage for the final 1:09 of regulation after coach Don Waddell pulled goalie Johan Hedberg, and Florida’s Gregory Campbell was penalized for tripping. Hossa tapped in a rebound of Kovalchuk’s shot to tie it.
David Booth’s fourth goal gave the Panthers a 2-1 lead with 4:39 left in the third. Ville Peltonen opened the scoring with his fourth goal 7:16 into the first.
Todd White got the Thrashers even at 2 just 31 seconds into the second.
Canadiens 4, Maple Leafs 3, OT
TORONTO (AP) – Montreal defenseman Mike Komisarek scored 35 seconds into overtime to lift Montreal over Toronto.
Komisarek intercepted Bryan McCabe’s errant pass at the Montreal blue line and skated in on a breakaway, beating Andrew Raycroft with a forehand deke between the pads.
Montreal rookie goalie Carey Price made his first career start against the Leafs and stopped 37 shots.
Alexei Kovalev, Andrei Kostitsyn and Andrei Markov also scored for the Canadiens, who beat the Maple Leafs for the first time this season in three tries (1-1-1).
Kyle Wellwood had his first two goals of the season, and Boyd Devereaux also scored for the Maple Leafs, who gave up a 3-2 lead in the third period.
