NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -Jaromir Jagr and Brandon Dubinsky scored second-period goals against Martin Brodeur, spoiling the New Jersey goalie’s second chance at 500 wins and lifting the New York Rangers to a 4-2 victory over the Devils on Wednesday night.

The center, who has five goals and 11 points over his past six games, completed the hat trick with a short-handed breakaway goal with 5:09 remaining in the third.
Johan Holmqvist made 28 saves for the Lightning, who have won four in a row after a six-game skid. Tampa Bay also got a goal from Vinny Prospal.

DALLAS (AP) – Rookie Devin Setoguchi and Patrick Marleau connected in the shootout after scoring regulation goals, and San Jose beat Dallas in the Stars’ first game since a major front office shake-up.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Ales Hemsky scored the only goal in a shootout and Mathieu Garon came up big in goal for Edmonton.
Garon made 29 saves through overtime and stopped all three in the shootout to get the best of Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo, who matched him until the very end.
Garon stopped Bryon Ritchie’s deke, pokechecked Brendan Morrison and got a piece of Ryan Kesler’s move to the backhand in the shootout. At the other end, Luongo stopped Sam Gagner’s deke and watched as Raffi Torres fanned completely from the slot, but Hemsky made a strong move to his backhand and lifted the puck quickly and sharply over the sprawled goalie.
Luongo made 19 saves in regulation and overtime for the Canucks, who had a season-high three-game winning streak snapped and fell to 2-7 at home this season.
Blue Jackets 4, Blackhawks 2
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Rick Nash, Sergei Fedorov and Jason Chimera each had a goal and an assist, and the Blue Jackets snapped a four-game skid.
Dan Fritsche also scored for Columbus, now in second place in the Central Division ahead of Chicago, and 6-2-1 at Nationwide Arena.
Defensemen Duncan Keith and Dustin Byfuglien scored for the Blackhawks, who had won three straight and five of six.
Fritsche made it 3-1 at 9:58 of the second period, roofing a backhand centering pass from Chimera on a giveaway by Jason Williams.
Pascal Leclaire made 16 saves for Columbus, improving to 8-4 this season.
